Software Licenses
GW IT manages numerous network licenses, which enables faculty and students to share concurrent licenses for various applications. Any software that is listed as network and is not listed as a site license is managed through the university's license server to ensure compliance with the license agreement. As a result, there may be some restrictions:
- number of concurrent licenses
- stipulations for whether or not the application can be installed on a computer lab, university owned computer or personal computer
- stipulations for whether or not the application can only be used for research or instructional use
All network licenses are available on the GW networks including Foggy Bottom, Ashburn and the SSL and remote access VPN. To use a network license off campus, you MUST be on the SSL or remote access VPN.
