GW Innovation Center
Part of GW Engineering and the broader innovation ecosystem at GW, Innovation Center programs and interdisciplinary makerspace, M06, give problem-solvers room to explore challenges creatively. We welcome all members of the GW community. In fact, building community is a big part of how we support innovation.
Our framework is all about applying design principles and processes to ask questions in creative ways. We slow the rush to solve by taking time to deeply understand problems from lived experience and multiple perspectives. We think with our hands and use human-centered and circular design to prioritize people and our planet.
Curiosity and imagination thrive in M06. Our tools and tech are free to use, and our staff and friends are available during community hours to teach you how to use the equipment safely and bring your ideas to life. We support problem-solvers, makers, entrepreneurs, artists and designers in a collaborative environment where we learn from each other. Learn more about our Community Guilelines and Tools & Tech.
M06 is a creative workspace and learning environment open to the GW community. We operate on a modest budget and with a small staff so it's essential that everyone in the space does their part to keep it functioning, which means respecting the space, the resources, and the people in it.
It is crucial that M06 remain SAFE for everyone. Safety also means feeling safe. We are fortunate to come from a diversity of backgrounds and experience. We value all forms of education, exposure, and curiosity. We believe M06 can model the community we want GW to be. We can practice living these values at M06 by taking accountability for the space and the ways that our actions impact one another here.
We ask that you thoroughly clean up behind yourself and leave all spaces better than you found them. Return tools and materials to their homes, sweep tabletops and the floor, and wipe down white boards. Claim a bin and some space on the Student Project Shelves for your stuff. EAT IN THE KITCHEN AREA ONLY and DO YOUR DISHES.
COMPOST
Anything compostable goes in the freezer. Non-compostable, non-recyclable waste goes in the small kitchen trash bin.
