Senior Design Program
Experiential learning is central to the GW Engineering experience. Students in each of our programs complete their studies with a 2-3 semester capstone sequence that calls upon the skills and expertise developed throughout their earlier courses to design, develop and deliver an original engineering prototype. Student teams are guided by experienced faculty and mentored by engineers from industry, professional organizations, and student groups. Along the way, they learn to consider real world constraints, work as a team to leverage individual strengths and build interdisciplinary skills, interact with clients to respond to changing concerns, and communicate their ideas to a variety of audiences. Undergraduates are invited to showcase their design projects at GW Engineering’s annual Research & Design Showcase in April.
