In the article "GW Students Spread Positivity across the Area during Welcome Day of Service," GW Today highlights this year's event, which brought 2,200 GW community members to 62 volunteer sites across the D.C. area. Among them were GW Engineering students Jocelyn Carillo, a mechanical engineering major who helped clean the Lincoln Cottage, and Imaan Nasir, a biomedical engineering major who planted flowers in D.C.'s Eckington neighborhood.

Here is an excerpt from the article: "Earlier, President Granberg said something that really stuck with me. If you give back to the community you're in, then they'll be the one to pull you forward," Nasir said. "So it's really about building up the people around you."
