Congratulations to Joshua Shapo, a senior electrical engineering major, on receiving a 2026 Career Catalyst Scholarship! In the article “IEEE Computer Society Names 2026 Career Catalyst Scholarship Recipients,” IEEE Computer Society announced the recipients of this scholarship program designed to bridge the gap between academia and industry. Shapo and 14 fellow students from across the U.S. will receive a $2,500 scholarship while gaining a global network of mentors.

Here is an excerpt from the article: “Building on its successful launch, the program’s second year offers scholars enhanced avenues to engage with industry experts. Program highlights include immersive facility tours; fireside chat sessions with technical leaders and corporate executives; interactive discussions on innovation strategy, career development, and modern hiring priorities; and team-based problem-solving challenges designed to turn academic theory into practical, real-world solutions.”
