SEAS 1800 has been offered in-person and online for five years. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Summer 2021 course will take the form of on-line synchronous and asynchronous sessions over a three-week period: instructors will lead live morning sessions (10:00 am – 12:00 noon) and afternoon sessions (1:00 – 3:00 pm), Monday through Friday. An offline project, modules, and exercises will accompany the live sessions. Since the course is credit-bearing, students will be expected to complete four written assignments, two reading assignments, two programming exercises, three hands-on modules, one exam, and one course project. Additional details are available in the course syllabus (PDF).

Registration and tuition information:

Visiting high-school students may enroll in GW summer courses as non-degree students.  All courses are being taught in an online format. To apply as a non-degree student, interested individuals should visit the non-degree website and submit an application online.  This year, students interested in taking the SEAS 1800 course are to be classified as General Study Students.

All students will have to create an account to apply. Creating an account will prompt the university to issue the appropriate GW ID number, userID and Email account, which are needed to remotely access the university laboratories and software tools.

Non-degree seeking students are billed the application fee ($25). The Student Association Fee which is $3.00 per credit hour and the tuition rate of $1,750.00 per credit hour are also applied. Limited course materials can be ordered through Amazon (online) and are provided in the course syllabus (PDF).
