Re: COVID-19 UPDATE: Reopen Phase 2-GW Employee Guidelines

June 20, 2020

Dear SEAS Staff and Faculty,

I hope you are doing well and are staying safe and healthy! I wanted to followup on the university's message, which discusses some "return to campus" plans.

First, I wanted to reiterate our commitment to safety and care as SEAS's top two priorities, and our "return to campus" planning is with those priorities in mind. As such, my guidance is that all staff and faculty should continue to work remotely if at all possible. If your work requires you to come to campus, please communicate with your supervisor or department chair on scheduling and space occupancy so that we may coordinate school-wide to manage workplace density based on health guidelines. In the coming weeks, we will be sharing additional information about how we will be managing the campus return of more staff and faculty, subject of course to GW and DC guidance and the trajectory of the pandemic.

Second, I encourage you to review the rapidly increasing amount of information on GW's COVID-19 website:

This includes links to information regarding the "return to campus", especially for the Fall 2020 semester. In particular, I encourage you to review President LeBlanc's message in GW Today:

which summarizes and contains a link to the campus return plan that was submitted to the DC government. In addition, there are links to two webinars that were conducted by the Provost's Office and GW Public Health experts:

The webinars cover similar material but answer different questions posed by attendees. The webinars were offered for faculty, but they contain a lot of useful information for staff, too.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks again for all that you do!
