At the School of Engineering & Applied Science (GW Engineering), we pride ourselves on cultivating exceptionally talented individuals poised to make pioneering discoveries and develop innovative solutions with global reach. Donations that help GW Engineering continue to expand opportunities that support the success of our students, both in and out of the classroom, are raised on GW’s Giving Day, which took place this year from noon on April 3 until noon on April 4. On Giving Day 2024, over 170 champions of our school participated and helped us raise approximately $74,000 to support the critical needs of GW Engineering students.
GW Engineering students themselves participated in the 24-hour-long fundraising event by joining the school’s Development and Alumni Relations Team and Communications and Marketing Team on the first floor of the Science & Engineering Hall. At these lively events, students created handwritten thank-you notes to be sent to our community of donors and took photos for GW Engineering’s social media to score swag items and showcase their school pride.
Every dollar of support can have a big impact, so students who donated as little as $5 also won nuggets or a sandwich from Chick-fil-A. All donations made to a GW Engineering fund help us foster meaningful engagements for GW Engineers so that all of our students graduate prepared, confident, and equipped to achieve their goals after leaving GW.
“Your generous support means we can continue our legacy of providing transformative academic programs and educating the next generation of leaders,” said GW Engineering Dean John Lach. “On behalf of the entire GW Engineering community, thank you.”
