SEAS provides free peer tutoring to all undergraduate SEAS students in a range of introductory and engineering-specific courses. Our tutors are top-notch current SEAS undergraduate students who excelled in the courses they now tutor.

There are three types of SEAS tutoring: Express Tutoring, Review Sessions and Computer Science Study Halls. Each method provides a different atmosphere and type of resource.  Read more about each type below.

Express Tutoring is a walk-in service that provides tutoring for several introductory-level classes, all in one location. Clarify new concepts, practice example problems, and review difficult readings. Bring your notes, your textbooks, and your friends!

The computer science study halls provide a weekly group student space where students can collaborate and review class material. Teaching fellows are present to answer questions, review course concepts, and facilitate group learning.

STEMworks
STEMworks is GW's university-resource for boosting quantitative skills. At the STEMworks website you can make an appointment with a peer coach in many quantitative courses, including Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics, and Statistics. While on the STEMworks website, checkout Smarthinking, a free, 24/7 online tutoring service for GW students, and the many STEMworks workshops that will help you develop your data and software skills.

Free Tutoring at Eckles Library
Eckles Library offers free tutoring in math, science, and economics courses. They require no prior sign up-just drop in and don’t forget to bring texts, workbooks and any specific assignments.

Free Calculus Tutoring from the Math Department
The Math Department provides free, walk-in (no appointment necessary) tutoring session available to any one enrolled in any Calculus class. This semester's hours are: Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays from 4:00 - 7:00 pm in Phillips 730 & 740.
