James R. Taylor

James R. Taylor is an Associate Professor of Practice in the Department of Computer Science. He currently teaches the introductory Python class to students from across the entire university and teaches algorithms and data structures to students majoring in computer science.  He developed his skills as a programmer and trainer while working for an estimation software company that serves the building construction industry and simultaneously studying for his Bachelor's of Science. His interests in programming are motivated by a personal interest in graphical and simulation applications, so James focused his Ph.D. on the development and validation of multi-rigid body simulators for robotics.  
James also conducted post-doctoral research into navigational system rerouting using overhead imaging sources during infrastructure disruptions due to natural disasters.
