Chalvonna Smith Teachey

Chalvonna Smith Teachey is the Director of Engineering Career Services at the George Washington University School of Engineering & Applied Science, where she leads the W. Scott Amey Career Services Center and its strategic direction. With more than 13 years of experience at GW, she has played a key role in developing career services and professional development opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students across engineering and computer science. Her work focuses on connecting students, faculty, alumni, and employers to create meaningful career pathways and strengthen the talent pipeline between GW Engineering and industry.

Smith Teachey specializes in employer engagement, career programming, and professional development, with a particular focus on graduate and international student populations. She has developed industry-focused programs, career resources, and employer partnerships across the corporate, nonprofit, government, and academic sectors. She also works closely with university and school leadership to develop talent pipelines, support student career readiness, and create opportunities for students to engage with employers through career fairs, panels, networking programs, site visits, and other professional experiences.
