2018 Inductees
Mr. Karl Gumtow and Ms. Vicki Gumtow
Mr. Karl Gumtow and Ms. Vicki Gumtow studied computer engineering and electrical engineering, respectively, at GW. In 2009, when the Gumtows decided to launch their own company, CyberPoint, they began with three employees and operated out of their condo in downtown Baltimore. To date, they have created hundreds of jobs and have clients in several regions throughout the world, and they have spun off five companies. In 2015, Inc. magazine named CyberPoint to its list of 5,000 fast growing privately held companies. In 2017, the Gumtows received GW’s 2017 Distinguished Entrepreneurial Achievement Award, which is given annually to individuals who have been notably successful as entrepreneurs.
The Gumtows also have dedicated themselves to building the Baltimore community, where they have been actively engaged with numerous organizations such as the Baltimore Community Foundation, Cristo Rey in Baltimore, Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore, and many others. Most recently, they created the Maryland Innovation and Security Institute, a non-profit committed to furthering innovation in the security community through creative projects like USCYBERCOM’s DreamPort program.
Mr. Anirudh Kulkarni
Mr. Anirudh Kulkarni is founder and CEO of CVP, an award-winning business technology consulting company that helps organizations navigate change. He has more than 30 years of experience in business and technology consulting, strategy development, and change management. Prior to starting CVP, he held senior-level roles at Answerthink, led SRA’s media consulting practice, and founded Anthem Decision Support Systems. Mr. Kulkarni serves on the SEAS National Advisory Council, was a board member of the Association for Corporate Growth National Capital Chapter, and was recently named Outstanding Industry Leader of the Year by The Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association. He received a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master of Science degree in 1986 and 1988, respectively, both in operations research and both from GW.
Mr. Dov Levy and Ms. Elma Levy
Mr. Dov Levy and Ms. Elma Levy are the co-founders of Dovel Technologies, a government contracting IT company. Mr. Levy is the company’s chief technologist, and Ms. Levy is the chair of the Board. Together, they have grown Dovel Technologies from a two-person, at-home start-up to a company with 1,300 FTEs and $200 million in annual revenue. In 2015, 2016, and 2017, Dovel Technologies was listed on the Washington Business Journal’s “50 Fastest Growing Companies” list. Mr. and Ms. Levy serve on the SEAS National Advisory Council, and Ms. Levy also serves on multiple advisory boards and is vice-chair of the Board of Montgomery Hospice. Ms. Levy earned an undergraduate degree from George Mason University and a graduate degree from Marymount University. Mr. Levy completed his undergraduate degree at Tel Aviv University, and he received his Master of Science degree in computer science from GW in 1983.
