GW Engineering Alumnus Andre Douglas Selected for Artemis III Mission

GW Engineering is excited to announce that alumnus Andre Douglas, Ph.D. ‘21, was selected by NASA as one of four crew members for its 2027 Artemis III mission. Douglas began his astronaut training in 2021 and served as a backup crew member for the recent Artemis II test flight. In the article “3 NASA Astronauts selected for Artemis III mission have ties to the DMV,” 7News spotlighted Douglas alongside two of his fellow astronauts who have studied at schools in the DMV.

Here is an excerpt from the article: “Douglas, who was originally from Florida, graduated from Western Branch High School in Chesapeake, Va., and in 2021 received a Doctorate in systems engineering from George Washington University. In 2019, he completed his master of science in electrical and computer engineering from Johns Hopkins University.”
