Aidan Furlong

Q: What led you to this career?
A: I had a position my senior year in college where I was a student worker for the engineering school’s advising office. When I needed a job after graduating, I thought applying for a higher education job was best for me with this past experience on my resume.

Q: Why did you choose GW?
A: A lot of it was a location-based decision! I had an apartment in Rosslyn before I had a job, so I applied to a lot of different positions around the area. I also visited when I was in high school, but I didn’t end up attending, so I was very glad to get the chance to work here instead!

Q: What is one thing you wish you’d known when you started working at GW?
A: How busy the campus gets during the school year, and then how quiet it gets during the summer!

Q: What is your favorite part about working at GW Engineering?
A: The people I have met and the relationships I have built in my time here!

Q: Why would someone want to work at GW Engineering?
A: The passion that people have for this school! It still impresses me even after working here for as long as I have.

Q: What is your biggest work pet peeve?
A: When I receive an email and my name is spelled Aiden instead of Aidan.

Q: What’s your ideal way to spend the weekend?
A: Spending time with my girlfriend, playing golf, and playing video games. My three favorite activities!

Q: What’s one of your favorite memories from the past year?
A: Going to the Bahamas with my girlfriend and her amazing family!

Q: Tell us something people don’t know about you.
A: My time in Virginia is the first time I’ve ever lived outside of New England.

Q: Do you have any pets?
A: Unfortunately, I don’t, but I would love a dog!
