Q: How long have you been working at GW, and what is your position?
A: I currently serve as the Senior Financial Analyst for GW Engineering, and have been here for one year. I previously worked within the College of Professional Studies as an Accountant and later as a Financial Analyst. My collective GW tenure adds up to just over 2.5 years.

Q: What led you to this career?
A: I was always a curious kid, so I liked digging into mysteries and perpetually asking my parents and family, “Why?” When I got started in my first financial role, I asked so many questions and fell into quite a few rabbit holes, where I just kept digging until I came up with an answer that made sense to me. Over the years, I’ve found that financial analysis is a bit like detective work–all the pieces of the clues fit together and help you see the bigger picture.

Q: Why did you choose GW?
A: Last spring, when I lost my federal job, I met up with a former GW colleague to commiserate at Western Market. Being back on campus with all of the students rushing around, it felt like a bit of a homecoming. I remembered how much I loved the GW community, and I wanted to come back! GW has always been a welcome respite for me personally and professionally.

Q: What is your favorite part about working at GW Engineering?
A: I love walking past the high-bay and lab spaces while students and researchers are working. Just being in such a lively building motivates me!

Q: Why would someone want to work at GW Engineering?
A: GW Engineering is a warm community where your work can make a positive impact on both students and research outcomes. GW Engineering makes an outsize impact on the world!

Q: What’s your ideal way to spend the weekend?
A: An ideal start to the weekend involves a slow morning in a neighborhood cafe with a yummy coffee and a new book to discover.

Q: Do you have any pets?
A: My fiancé and I adopted a cat from the humane society back in January. Her name is “Snickers” like the candy bar! On days when I work remotely, she likes to supervise my Excel skills from her hammock.
