Jie Zhou is broadly interested in systems research, with a focus on building secure computing systems using principled and rigorous methodologies. He currently works to employ compiler-aided, language-based, and program analysis techniques to enhance the security of systems programming languages and their ecosystems. He advocates for the philosophy of “building security in”, which emphasizes integrating security into software systems during development rather than as an add-on after production.
